ELDER JOHNNIE CHRISTINE ANDERSON is the Lead Elder at Tabernacle Baptist Church under the tutelage of Bishop Elect Dennis A. Meredith. Elder Anderson is a Client Consultant for Attorney Jack Tilson. She and her partner Deena Adair are parents of (4) children and (6) grandchildren. Elder Anderson believes and stands by " To Much Whom is Given, Much Is Required.
ELDER KEVIN ENGLISH-TAYLOR originates from Chicago, Illinois. He is married to Raymond Taylor Jr. and is the father of one daughter and grandfather of three grandchildren. Elder English-Taylor has been in the Ministry at Tabernacle Baptist Church since 2001.
Elder English-Taylor has been living withy HIV/AIDS since 1988 and has been transparent about his status by disclosing to the congregation. His diagnosis has opened doors for his ministry in HIV/AIDS where he had lead the HIV Ministry at Tabernacle for several years by offering free HIV testing; organizing World AIDS day & National HIV testing day events and Town Hall meetings at Tabernacle.
Elder English-Taylor believes there is still a lot of stigma around HIV/AIDS and because of the stigma he will be an advocate for those who are too afraid to talk about their HIV status. He has worked for several AIDS Service & Community Based Organizations throughout the metro Atlanta area providing free HIV testing to the community. Not only that, he has been the vessel and the comfort to those who are finding out they have just tested HIV positive.
ELDER ERIC WILSON answered his calling in 1996 and was licensed in 1997 at New Beginnings Full Gospel Baptist Church. In 2005, Bishop James Morton came to Tabernacle and I was re-licensed at Tabernacle Baptist Church in 2006.
After serving and ministering at Tabernacle, I was ordained as an Elder in 2011. I also serve as an Armor Bearer to Bishop-Elect Dennis a Meredith
ELDER EDGAR GAINES, author and highly skilled communicator, was born and raised in Memphis Tennessee. Elder Gaines is license and ordained in two denominations Baptist and Methodist. He has been in the ministry over 15 years. Elder Gaines has served as an intern pastor, assistant pastor, president of the apostolic council and the list goes on. He holds a Master’s Degree in Christian Studies and a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice.
Elder Gaines vision is to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ to people of every country of the world and to be global and a model of relevant and innovative evangelism. I love my pastor and first gentleman and am thankful for an opportunity to serve at Tabernacle Baptist Church.
ELDER KASI BROWN
Elder Brown hails from Vicksburg, Mississippi and has dedicated her life to ministry over the last 10 years. She became interested in ministry as a young child tending to the sick in her community, as well as, her elderly grandmother. "God called me at a young age to nurse the sick", Elder Brown says.
Elder Brown describes herself in ministry in two words, service and sacrifice. She has a passion for pastoral care. "If any among you are sick, let them call for the Elders of the Church".
Elder Brown, along with her partner, Latoya Brown have served Tabernacle Baptist Church and the members for quite some time and have assisted in many aspects of the church.
